Brazilian Fashion Calendar fo Spring Summer 2012 / 2013 Season

Back to the work on this blog, let me share with you the new dates, in new months, for Brazilian Fashion Calendar.

The changes will be worth from the next season, and the reason for such transformation is explained by Paulo Borges, coordinator for SPFW and Fashion Rio:

"We have a great opportunity right now to effect the desired changes, in one side because the dates are already being reviewed under the major international events that Brazil will host, and more than ever, brands and fashion production chain are ready for this great transformation. "

Brazilian fashion calendar for Spring/Summer 2011-2012 season

Fashion Rio is still in the warehouses of Pier Maua in Rio de Janeiro and  SPFW remains at Bienal in Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo.

Challenges for the Brazilian textile sector in 2011 (+ trends 2012-13)

The year 2010 was marked by a record investment in the textile industry. We applied $ 2 billion in the modernization of manufacturing facilities, new technologies and training. Moreover, the sector's deficit reached $ 3.5 billion, a result of the increase in textile imports, a problem that - besides the high for cotton - will also mark 2011. 


These and other analysis, and prospects of the textile sector this year, were presented Monday (07/02) in an event sponsored by Sintex - Industry Union of Spinning, Weaving and Clothing, in conjunction with the Abit - Association Brazilian Textile and Apparel and SCMC - Santa Catarina Contemporary Fashion at the Teatro Carlos Gomes, in Blumenau (SC). The program also included a presentation on Management Trends 2012, Deborah Pierro, manager of research services and WGSN South America


The opening was made by the president of Sintex, Ulrich Kuhn, who stressed the importance of associations for the textile industry and highlighted how the rise of cotton is harming the domestic industry. According to Kuhn, the prices of raw materials reached its highest level in the last 140 years and can not go without passing on costs to consumers. 


The managing director of Abit, Fernando Pimentel, presented a broad overview of the sector, representing 5.5% of GDP and the manufacturing industry generates 1.7 million direct jobs. According to the executive to ensure the competitiveness of the textile product is necessary to implement a national series of sectoral bottlenecks. 


"One of the major risks for the textile industry in 2011 will be the price and supply of cotton, but also must face other problems known in Brazil, such as exemptions from the payroll of an industry-intensive hand labor is like textiles, "Pimentel pointed out. The sector's competitive agenda also advocates reducing the tax burden, expansion of credit lines, improving the system of trade protection, tariff reduction on exports, increase the limit of single, among other items that contribute to the development of the domestic textile industry.


Trends 


In the second part of the event yesterday, Deborah Pierro, manager of research services and WGSN South America, presented the macro trends for spring / summer 2012-2013. Primitive Futurism, influencing raw and natural tissue, coupled with technological, Cinematic, with a vintage aesthetic, nostalgic tones washed and the JPEG Generation, marked by bright colors and unusual aesthetics of the generation born in the internet are concepts that will mark the coming seasons.
